2026 Norwood Little League Information and Program Details:
Majors/Minors This year we are hoping to keep our division set up the same as last year with a Majors and Minors Division that will go hand in hand. The Majors (Price: $275) will consist of 8 teams made up of Play 12, 11, and 10 year olds. We plan to also have a Minors (Price: $275) division consisting of 6 teams made up of Play 9, 10, and 11 year olds. 10 and 11 year olds will be eligible for the Majors through our player draft. If a 10 or 11 year old child is not drafted into the Majors, then the player will be drafted in the separate Minors draft. All 12 year old’s will be drafted into the majors. All players that played in the Majors last year will remain on their previous team. Game schedules and practice schedules will be announced at a later time. All games for the Minors and Majors will take place on the Norwood Little League owned and maintained fields behind the Coakley Middle School.
-All 10 year old children must be registered for the Majors and then if not drafted, they will be placed in the Minors. If you would prefer your child play in the Minors and be considered for the Majors draft, please email Norwood Little League Player Agent Steve Trovato at [email protected]
AA Ball (Hybrid) Price: $250 will consist of 7 and 8 year olds. The intention of the league is to introduce and develop these players in these important aspects of baseball. AA will have 2 games per week on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 and Saturday mornings. Wednesday games will take place on Norwood Fields, while all Saturday games will take place on the Norwood Little League owned and maintained fields behind the Coakley Middle School.
A Ball (Tee Ball / Coach Pitch) Price: $250 will consist of 5 and 6 year olds. This league will focus on the introduction to the fundamentals and rules of baseball. At the beginning of the season it will be a combination of tee ball and coach pitch, but by the end of the season the goal is for each player in this league to be comfortable with live pitching from the coaches. (FYI: Coaches are standing or kneeling close to home plate and lobbing pitches into the players.) A Ball will play 2 games per week on Monday evenings at 5:30 and a Saturday afternoon game. Monday games will take place on Norwood fields, while Saturday games will take place at the Norwood Little League owned and maintained fields behind the Coakley Middle School.
Rookie Ball Price: $125 will consist of 4 year olds and will focus on an introduction to the game with lots of other fun activities mixed in. It will vary between drills and game-type play. The league will meet once a week on Sunday Mornings. Rookie Ball will take place on Sunday mornings on the Norwood Little League owned and maintained fields behind the Coakley Middle School.
General Info:
Norwood Little League is required to use the Little League International Play ages and our divisions are set up by kids’ play age, NOT grade levels. The general rule of thumb is that your child will be considered the age that he or she turns between 9/1/2025 and 8/31/2026. (Example: Your child’s birthday is 10/1/2013. Your child is a play 12 and will play in the majors if drafted this year regardless of what grade your child is in.) Norwood Little League, in accordance with Little League International, cannot allow any player that attains the age of 13 between 9/1/2025 and 8/31/2026 to play in Norwood Little League, regardless of their school grade.
League Fees will include a hat and a jersey. All other playing equipment must be provided by the family, but Norwood Little League does offer equipment yard sales/trades prior to the season (dates TBA).
All League Fees go towards paying for balls, catcher’s equipment for most teams, umpires for the Majors/Minors division games, trophies, and maintenance costs.
As mentioned above, the fields and surrounding property at the Norwood Little League Complex (the rear of the Coakley Middle School) is owned and exclusively maintained by Norwood Little League. Maintenance costs include general upkeep of the fields, the batting cages, clubhouse, utility costs, etc. All cleaning/repairs/Spring set up/Fall breakdown is done by league volunteers (not the Town of Norwood).
In addition to volunteering to be a coach, please consider volunteering to help with Norwood Little League in these areas too.
If you are interested in becoming a coach for any age group, please register on our website and reach out to Norwood Little League Vice President Steve Trovato at [email protected]
